Himalayas

The Himalayan Region encompasses steep mountains and deep river gorges and ranges across Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, India, and Tibet. The sharp rising mountains reach into the world’s tallest peaks, Mt. Everest and K2, and give shape to the area’s unique ecosystems. From alluvial grasslands to subtropical broadleaf forests to alpine meadows, our initiatives focus on merging development and conservation by enhancing livelihoods through investment in human capital, small-scale sustainable enterprise ventures, value-chain development, and adaptation to a shifting climate.
