China’s rapidly expanding economy presents many of the greatest challenges and opportunities for the long-term health of our planet. The fund works in China to support effective institutions and individuals, well-designed policy and governance structures, and market-based mechanisms in order to build vibrant and diverse systems and communities. We address the most significant threats to a stable climate by seeking strategic political, commercial, and institutional leverage for decisive action. Our work supports efforts to reduce the impact of investment and extraction of transnational enterprises, to improve government-to-government collaboration on climate change, and to take advantage of the potential for rapid commercialization and implementation of sustainable energy and development solutions.
